Deep Down They’re All Chocolate

A little while back, I was at the movies with my wife waiting to see a movie. While the previews were on (now called the Pre-Show Entertainment), an m&m’s commercial came on. It was all about a box of candy that was found in a cupboard well after Valentine’s Day. Inside, was a red m&m who stood up, took a deep breath and said “Bathroom” Then it fell over and died. The commercial ended with the phrase, “deep down, they’re all chocolates”

While the meaning of the commercial may be somewhat unclear, we can relate the message in the final sentence to an understanding of just how special each and every one of us truly is.

In the commercial, it says that deep down, all m&m’s are really the same. We in chiropractic also believe that deep down, all people are the same. That is, we are all made of the same goodness and light that is known as Universal Intelligence.

We are also the same in that we live, breathe, heal and grow from above down and inside out, not the other way around. And, by making sure that our nerves are free from any outside interference, our Life Force can flow freely and continue the healing and growth processes.

Many people would say that seeing everyone as the same takes away the uniqueness of an individual. But, we in chiropractic see it differently. By helping our kids understand that everyone Is special because of who we all are deep down inside, they can develop a healthy respect for others as well as an indomitable spirit of self-esteem to take them toward their potential in life.

This kind of belief in self is absolutely critical if we are all to continue to unfold into whatever God has planned for us. It will also help our kids to resist drugs, alcohol and other harmful activities and substances. They will resist not because of will power, but because they know they are too important to damage the vehicle (their bodies) God has given them to carry out their life missions!

Teaching our kids the lessons about how special everyone is and making sure they have a fully functioning nerve system is the core of what visiting your family’s chiropractor is all about. Whenever you see something like the m&m’s commercial that talks about an underlying unity in all things, take a moment to point it out to your kids and help them see just how special they are because of that unity.

Just think of what the world would be like if every person respected everyone else to the point where we all just went about fulfilling our destinies, peacefully and lovingly.
